Annie L BrowningAnnie L. Browning

Annie L. Browning, LCSW, MDiv, PhD(c), is a consciousness researcher, psychotherapist and founder of the GAZE™ Method, a proprietary protocol that helps leaders navigate uncertainty with clarity and steadiness using cognitive neuroscience. She holds an undergraduate degree in Religion & Culture, graduate degrees in Clinical Social Work and Divinity and has been a licensed psychotherapist for nearly 20 years. She is currently a PhD candidate in Psychology, specializing in Consciousness, Spirituality and Integrative Health. Her research integrates electroencephalogram (EEG), functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNRIS) and neurophenomenology to study brain activity as it relates to shifts in perception of time and cognitive change.

Annie runs a successful conscious leadership development practice, working with founders, executives and teams since 2018. Her professional approach is grounded in lived discipline: she begins most mornings wandering the woods on their farm in deep contemplation and commits to weekly contrast therapy—voluntarily plunging into 30-degree water, something she notes sounds more impressive than it feels. She loves to read, write, run and practice Pilates and yoga, and maintains a deep interest in symbolic thinking and the nature of the human spirit.
